Give It All Again I’m running, running back to you Just something, something I must do There’s a pull I can’t deny, you magnetize my soul So I’m running, running back to you I’m jumping, jumping up so high It’s an order, I cannot defy After all these years you’d think you’d finally let me go But I’m jumping, jumping don’t know why And I will give it all again I’ll give it everything and I can’t stop, can’t stop And I will somehow give it all I’ll give it all again It never ends, it never, never ends I’m swimming, swimming back to you You’re winning, no matter what I do The love is strong, the love is deep, it’s got me every way I’m swimming, and drowning into you Gotta give it up Gotta give it up Gotta give it up, cos enough is enough But I can’t resist all the trouble you cause And the hint of applause when I’m doing it tough (Instrumental) I’m crawling, crawling back to you Must get there, yet with nothing left to prove Take my arms and take my legs, I’ll get there anyhow I’m crawling, crawling back to you And I will give it all again I’ll give it everything and I can’t stop, can’t stop And I will somehow give it all I’ll give it all again It never ends, it never never ends And I will give it all again I’ll give it everything and I can’t stop, can’t stop And I will somehow give it all I’ll give it all again It never ends, it never, never ends

Cold Hard Ground The clouds in the sky Clash in purples and greys Hear the thundering sound in your ears There’s no way to count All the tears on the ground As they bubble and burst through the years Falling to the ground Falling to the ground Falling to the cold hard ground The people inside All the buildings so tall Looking out at the clouds, hear them sigh Just look at the line As it begins to fall And they’re all so appalled, who knows why Falling to the ground Falling to the ground Falling to the cold hard ground The line goes down The line goes down The line goes down (Repeat) We’re on the ground and we’re looking up Here with our cheap shoes and plastic cups The crystalized buildings reflecting the clouds A mystical monument standing proud Rain starts falling in our eyes Turned to the grey of the tragic skies A corporate castle made of paper walls With eyes looking down as the money falls Falling to the ground Falling to the ground Falling to the cold hard ground The papers are torn And the shouting is done And nobody has won here today They stand on the roof And look down to the ground And they don’t make a sound as they fall, and they’re Falling to the ground Falling to the ground Falling to the cold hard ground

Wrong By Design The concept was ahead of it’s time The prototype was one of a kind So incorrect in every way The critics didn’t know what to say I met you when the stars were askew A question mark appeared over you So massive that it blocked out the sky But it make me want to leap up and fly And you were Wrong by design So wrong by design Ever since I knew you, knew you’d never be mine And you never lived your life by the book And the world around you shuddered and shook A T-Rex with it’s strange little arms A tiger who will mean you no harm A wolf who’s closest friend is a sheep Whose shallow end’s incredibly deep You baffle me and leave me confused And mentally I’m broken and bruised Well you flash me that inscrutable smile Like an angel crossed with a huge crocodile, it’s all so Wrong by design Wrong by design Ever since I knew you, knew you’d never be mine And you never lived your life by the book And the world around you shuddered and shook Wrong by design So wrong by design When they handed out normality you were back of the line And you’re always keen to break all the rules While the rest of us just look on like fools Like a Citroen car or fortified wine I just can’t get to grips with this design There’s no instruction manual to read I really just don’t know what you need, because you’re Wrong by design So wrong by design Ever since I knew you, knew you’d never be mine And you never lived your life to a plan But I really wish I could understand Wrong by design Wrong by design When they handed out normality you were back of the line And you always have to break all the rules While the rest of us just look on like fools

I Am Writing a Novel I am writing a novel And I know how it begins I am writing a novel With a plot and everything It’s taken many years for me to fully understand It’s based on a true story, none of it was really planned I am writing a novel It’s taken so much time And I only get one draft But at least it’s really mine I’ve got no real track record, never done this thing before If I take it to a publishers will they throw me out the door? Wish I could make it a romantic tale But it’s more a mystery With some random drama woven in No real originality I am writing a novel But it’s all been said before It won’t be a best seller With displays in every store But maybe someone kind will read it late into the night Their friends will ask them how it was, they’ll say ‘it was alright’ I am writing a novel And I’m over half-way through But as for the ending I’m not sure what to do There hasn’t been a heroine for love interest to form To introduce her at this stage would go against the norm So take the pen and start to write Another chapter’s now in sight Sorrow and rage On to the page Making it turn out right It’s gotta be right

Tom Gets It Wrong Tom Tom, he gets it wrong He gets it wrong so badly Tom Tom, he gets it wrong He gets it wrong so badly Tom Tom, he gets it wrong He gets it wrong so badly Tom Tom, he gets it wrong He gets it wrong so badly He can see a problem and a problem must be fixed Find a simple additive it’s going to make him rich Knock knock, who’s there? He’s found that lead balloon Now we drive so quietly, he’ll reap those profits soon Tom Tom, he gets it wrong He gets it wrong so badly Tom Tom he moves along Rushing to doomsday madly Tom Tom, when he is gone Redo the work so gladly Tom Tom, he gets it wrong Failing the future badly Some chemicals are dangerous and they must be replaced Can he solve the problem, be his bosses saving grace There’s a little trick he knows, He calls them CFCs Now we’re safe inside our kitchens but we sunburn with such ease Oh, dear God, dear God The seeds that you sow Will grow and grow ‘Till you can’t contain, that stain You’re brain, is bad for us all But wealth, not health, Was what is was for Tom Tom, he gets it wrong He gets it wrong so badly Tom Tom he moves along Rushing to doomsday madly Tom Tom, when he is gone Redo the work so gladly Tom Tom, he gets it wrong Failing the future badly So here’s to you, I know you only wanted to be good And help your fellow citizens the only way you could We are only human and we’ve all made some mistakes The only difference is you left a billion corpses in your wake Thomas didn’t finish there, had further work to do Since he contracted polio, he’d help those suffering too Invented quite a novel way to lift him into bed But he got caught up in the pulley wires and choked himself instead Tom Tom, he gets it wrong He gets it wrong so badly

Chase the Nightmares The dishes filling up the sink, so many problems I can’t think I really don’t know what to say-ay-ay-ay My life is one enormous mess, I’m hardly ever at my best It’s just another awful day-ay-ay-ay I’m stuck in traffic once again, I’ve lost another favourite pen And I am pulling out my hair But when I don’t know what to do, I catch a little glimpse of you Then suddenly I start to care You are the place I want to be When I’m with you I’m truly free You make the battle worth the pain You are a star that truly shines And you will find, that you make everything ok You chase the nightmares away You turn the night into the day You see the things that I can’t see Here in my heart you have a home You’re not alone and you are everything to me I’m back to going out my mind, why are they all just so unkind Well they can all just go to hell The stress is piling up inside, I must endure this crazy ride I really want to scream and yell With deadline’s coming thick and fast, I don’t know how I’m going to last I’m sick of wishing it to end My only port in this huge storm, is when I’m cuddled up and warm With you beside me once again You are the place I want to be When I’m with you I’m truly free You make the battle worth the pain You are a star that truly shines And you will find, that you make everything ok You chase the nightmares away You turn the night into the day You see the things that I can’t see Here in my heart you have a home You’re not alone and you are everything to me Look at you, look at me No ambiguity I see you, I’m happy Your needs ne-ver sap me Together, we’re both free Live uncon-ditionally I love you, you love me I don’t think that’s pure insanity You chase the nightmares away You turn the night into the day You see the things that I can’t see Here in my heart you have a home You’re not alone and you are everything to me Chase the nightmares, chase the nightmares Chase the nightmares, chase the nightmares

Look Out the Window There was a time that I was so brave I rescued the girl, another close shave A knight on a horse, a sword in my hand The peasants all cheered, a hero I stand Sheathing my sword once again Now I have conquered all men I have my tasks to attend in the real real world I was in charge way out in space Leading attacks on an alien base They had enslaved the one that I love A daring escape beamed in from above She had collapsed in my arms But awoke to my space hero charms But soon I am back to the calm of my real real world Look out the window Look out the window Where does our life go, while we’re here The walls of this workplace Will keep me from her face Another complete waste of a dream, watch the dream disappear Disappear Dressed to the nines in a fast car Chasing some crook I fought in a bar He’s got my girl locked in his boot I screech to a halt and get ready to shoot He fires and she runs away One punch and I soon save the day But that life’s now starting to fade to my real real world Look out the window Look out the window Where does our life go, while we’re here The walls of this workplace Will keep me from her face Another complete waste of a dream, watch the dream disappear Disappear Disappear Disappear Far from here

Superstar 04:01
Superstar He bought a guitar One like Hendrix It was yellow and he strung it upside down Gets a lesson Off of YouTube There’s a guy there who can imitate that sound A middle aged outsider who is trying to be a God No wonder that he looks so very odd Trying to be a superstar He looks a bit like Hendrix but he can’t play that song And he gets those famous riffs completely wrong Grew his hair out Grew a small beard He was sure his girlfriend really wouldn’t mind Went on ebay Bought a jacket Like the his hero wore in 1969 He sort of looked the part, but he came across a hack His girlfriend laughed at him behind his back He is not a superstar He set fire to a guitar watch it go up in flames Though a paper-mache one is not the same Practice ‘till he starts to cry Practice ‘till he’s wracked with pain See his fingers starting to fly Like a sloth with a zimmer frame He looks a bit like Hendrix but he can’t play that song And he gets those famous riffs completely wrong Had to turn it Up the right way Cos he couldn’t use his fingers that way round Had to sell his Leather jacket Cos bits came off whenever he sat down His boss at Marks & Spencers said he had to cut his hair He didn’t think that this was awfully fair When you are a superstar Ironically he was like Hendrix right at the end Took loads of drugs and didn’t wake again

Guide Me Through Again It took me a great deal of time To know that she wanted me there I hold out my hand and she gathers me in And she’ll guide me through again And she’ll guide me through again There must be a reason she’s here I don’t have a clue what it is She smiles through her eyes as I need her once more And she’ll guide me through again And she’ll guide me through again Don’t want to be the one to bring the building down Before I knew her I’d have hit the cold hard ground Inspiration True creation I can’t believe the luck that I’ve found I’m up on a mountain again Attached by the smallest of lines Trust is a rarity, so guard it if you can And she’ll guide me through again And she’ll guide me through again And she’ll guide me through again

There’s No Room For Fun In Here Welcome you in Shoes at the door Breathing the disinfected, dust-free, scented air Washing your hands Sitting you down Feeling the warm embrace of custom velvet chairs Take in the hosts Stress in their smiles Genuine tribal artworks cooly standing guard Fear in my eyes Sweat on my brow Voice betrays nervousness, my breathing’s way too hard Panicking hosts Rush to your side Finding a coaster for your glass of vintage wine Carpets of cream Bought from Iran Potential victim of these trembling hands of mine I just can’t be bothered Don’t wash your hands, leave on your shoes Take off the plastic wrapper And feel your soul begin to move Eyes on my jeans When were they washed? Been on my car seat with the dirt and biscuit crumbs I want to scream Sprint out the room Leaving the open door to welcome in the sun During the meal I dropped a pea Don’t think they saw it but I cannot really tell Can’t bear the guilt Kick it away If they ever find it I’ll be going straight to Hell I’m think I left a fingerprint on the mirror when I washed my hands I’m sure they’ll be able to wipe it off with some sort of polishing cloth But will it come back like many marks do on a mirror when it’s all steamed up Next time I go in there I’ll try to wipe it with a towel so they’ll never know End of the meal Not really full Uneaten dinner roll could be my special friend Speak not a word As it’s taken away Off to a future that we cannot comprehend Now there’s nowhere left to hide As the conversation flows Like a squirt of hand sanitizer Be careful where it goes I just can’t be bothered Don’t wash your hands, leave on your shoes Take off the plastic wrapper And feel your soul begin to move Back to the room Now slightly drunk Don’t forget this is the most deadly time of all Don’t spill your drink Don’t drop a cake You’ve done so well, don’t let the standards start to fall Time now to go Sigh of relief Why does this whole thing have to be a chore? Why does your stuff Have the last word? Keeping you from what life is for

Too Many Spiders (Up In My Tree) There’s too many spiders up in my tree They’ve staked their claim, that’s plain to see They’re always trying to terrify me Knowing there’s too many spiders up in my tree I know they’re there Waiting to give me a scare I can’t let them win Letting their spidery plan begin There’s too many spiders up in my tree And I’m just letting them stay for free What kind of man am I? They’ll say A man who’s quite afraid They know everything They know all of my fears They stare with beady eyes I don’t know if they have ears (Instrumental) Can’t watch TV Cos they’re peering in the window at me I’m sure they’ll get me soon And wrap me up in a horrid cocoon I draw the curtains, lock the back door But I know there’s going to be more and more Laughing and breeding up in my tree Abusing my hospitality They know everything They know all of my fears They’re slowly taking charge They’ve got eight little eyes on my garage Well there’s too many spiders up in my tree Rubbing their arachnoid hands in glee Spinning their webs and being so rude I guess I’ll have to move I guess I’ll have to move

Andrew Irvine London

Andrew’s been making music for quite a while now and it’s about time he releases it into the wild. Whether it finds acceptance, general indifference or a grisly death at the hands of the internet, he’s fine with it.
